Every member of the Splendor team finds that the most unique pieces of jewellery are created in connection to competitions. Therefore, we have decided to try and compete in as many competitions as we can and measure our abilities with other craftspeople and designers on an international level. It is when preparing for these competitions that we can truly allow our imagination to run wild and create incredibly unique pieces.

So far we have won 49 prizes and trophies worldwide which is an outstanding feat. Each competition  is a serious challange for which we spend months preparing, refining and create several pieces by the time the final competing piece emerges. These pieces can be seen on the following page.

The different jewelry competitions are usually based on a given concept, around which the competing pieces have to be designed. This always poses exciting challenges for us. Usually competitions are organized to promote a certain type of precious stone or pearl, thus we have many pieces embelished with Tahitian pearls, but we are well aquainted with diamonds and opals as well.

In certain cases it is a special function or style that defines the jewelry contest. In any case, the process of creating the competing masterpieces requires endless hours of intellectual as well as high quality physical work. We feel that it important to work with original designs, that pieces have clear forms, comfort, durability, high quality as well as some small intricate detail that makes them unique and special. In many cases, we test the boundaries of the goldsmith craft at these competitions and have created a jewellery mobile phone, a belt buckle, a magic staff, pendrives,  jewellery handbags, jewellery shoes, clothing accessories, household objects and other useful, exclusive and unusual objects.

We deal with these competition pieces with special care. These events give us the opportunity to mold our long-held dreams into metal and decorate them with our most beautiful treasured precious stones and pearls. It is not surprising that we do not duplicate our winning pieces and they are priced differently than our other jewellery creations.

The competing jewellery pieces serve us well later on, as they can inspire and be the basis of many different new creations and special collections as well as show off our craft and the diversity of our creativity.
